Recently I've been noticing flakes. Flakes on my bed, on my desk, in my lap. No, it's not blue and gray dandruff. It is flakes from my Bible. The once pretty "leather" covering seems to not like being carted from Air Conditioned America to Hot as Hades Africa to Rainforest Southeast Asia. It is flaking...everywhere. I don't want to get a new Bible because my parents gave me this one for Christmas in 2006 and I have marked in it and written notes in the margin. But as I brushed away the flakes, I thought about my Flaky Bible and I wondered if the meaning of the passages I read were "rubbing off on me" like the cover that was flaking off on me. Do others notice the "flakes" that remain around me and around the house long after I spend time in the Word? What about you? Is your Bible flakey?
I was JUST thinking about this very idea, myself. Asking myself that question! Thanks for stating it so clearly and with pictures! Love you, Mom
